Lamacchia Realty is honored to be entering the Springfield Massachusetts market by joining forces with Sears Real Estate.  Over the past few years, Lamacchia Realty’s REALTORS® have been occasionally serving Springfield and the surrounding areas, but this move with Sears Real Estate will make them a main player in the market within a few years.

Lamacchia Realty and Sears Real Estate met on Sunday, April 7th at Lamacchia Worcester to sign closing documents.

Paul Sears, former Springfield City Councilor, was regarded as a “well-respected REALTOR®, a shrewd businessman, and a dedicated community leader” by current Springfield Mayor Domenic Sarno.  Mr. Sears was recognized in 2017 for his outstanding commitment to the community with the Ad Club of Western Massachusetts’ William Pynchon Award.

Brian Sears, Kevin Sears, and Dan Rodriguez have been the Brokers for Sears Real Estate, Inc. since Paul’s retirement with Brian Sears as the managing broker. Kevin Sears has spent more than a decade pursuing ambitions with the National Association of REALTORS® and is now the President; a position he will serve in until the end of 2026.  There had been tentative plans for over a year for Lamacchia and Sears to merge before Kevin assumed the presidency. However, in January, Kevin unexpectedly had to step into the role of President sooner than planned, which accelerated the timeline for this acquisition. Even though Brian, Kevin and Dan were the owners, they and Anthony felt it was necessary to make this move with Paul’s blessing, so they talked to him last fall, and he wholeheartedly approved. Unfortunately, Paul passed away at the beginning of March and was unable to see this plan come to fruition but we are sure he is looking down with pride.

Sears officeLamacchia Realty plans to continue to use the Sears Real Estate name along with Lamacchia Realty for at least a year during the branding transition as the Sears name is so well known.  Lamacchia has already begun to deploy its very aggressive marketing campaign to dramatically boost the Company’s market reach in the region and to help add more top-rated REALTORS® to the Springfield office. The marketing plan features, television ads that already started running this past week on WWLP-22, billboards on the Mass Pike and other major roadways, social media posts, postcards, newspaper ads, and much more. 

This marks Lamacchia Realty’s fourth acquisition in Massachusetts in the past 9 months with the prior acquisitions in Falmouth with Foley Real Estate, Fall River with Right Choice Real Estate, and Seekonk with Keystone Property Group. Lamacchia Realty is excited to bring on even more REALTORS® in Central Massachusetts and Connecticut in the weeks and months to come.
