Looking for family fun during February School Vacation week? There’s lots going on at your local library.
Not only does your local library offer free school vacation week programs, they also have free and/or discounted museum passes. Here is what’s happening at a few of our local area libraries.

The Amesbury Public Library invites you and your elementary through high school aged students to drop in for map making – all week long!
ALL WEEK – Map Making – There will be different levels of creating and drawing to bring your imagination to life and create the ultimate fantasy map.
Wednesday 2/19 – 10:00-11:30 – Role Playing Game – Ages 7-10 – Registration required, see website – No experience necessary for this fantasy game of role playing that is a modification of Dungeons and Dragons.
Thursday 2/20 – 2:00-4:00 – Dungeons and Dragons – Ages 14-18 – Registration required, see website. This is a self contained game so no experience is required – the story is Soirees & Shenanigans – see website for registration and full details.

Wednesday 2/19 – 1:30-3:30 – Draw Comics With Your Kid, Parent, Grandparent, or Babysitter Workshop – Ages 7-14 – Registration required, see website. Special guest, Jonathan Todd, the author of the new graphic novel Timid! will be coaching kids and adults how to turn their story into a one page comic.
Thursday 2/20 – 2:30-3:30 – Author Meet and Greet: There’s a Wub in the Tub! – Ages 3+ – Registration required, see website. Author, Katy Hunt, the writer of There’ a Wub in the Tub! will read her latest book and participants will be able to make a cat toy to donate to a local feline charity.

The Newburyport Public Library offers Stay-cation Activities for younger kids, tweens and teens.
ALL WEEK – Pokémon Bingo – taking place all week (Tuesday 2/18 through Saturday 2/22) in the Children’s Room. Do you have what it takes to catch them all? Fill out a bingo card and win a small prize.
ALL WEEK – Tween and Teen Craft Pickup – taking place all week (Tuesday 2/18 through Saturday 2/22) Stop by the Teen Loft and pick up your own craft kit to make Origami Heart Bookmarks.
Tuesday 2/18 – 3:00-4:30 – Tin Foil Sculptures – Join us in the Children’s Activity Room, all ages and abilities are welcome to make sculptures with tin foil and your imagination.
Wednesday 2/19 – 3:00-4:30 – STEM Structures – Head over to the Children’s Activity Room to explore a variety of building toys, including magnetic tiles.
Wednesday 2/19 3:30 – 5:00 – Sour Birthday Party – Grades 5-12 – Registration Requested – Join us to celebrate Olivia Rodrigo and Chappell Roan’s birthday’s with karaoke, snacks and trivia.
Thursday 2/20 3:00-4:30 – Glow Zone in the Children’s Activity Room – The lights will be turned down and the glow sticks glowing! Kids will have a great glow time building and creating glow masterpieces.
